I was impressed with your posts last week! Way to go :)
Let's do something different this time. I want you to select a historical figure and write a blog post from HIS or HER point of view. When you do a reply, be sure to identify WHO you are replying as. :)

George Washington:
ReplyDeleteAs to any foreign alliances lets stay clear of them to further hinder any problems. Also, lets have little political connection as possible even though there already exists some engagements.
What's so bad about foreign alliances? I for one see no harm in them.
Delete~Andrew Jackson
Jackson,
DeleteEvery country has and follows their own course, we must not delve ourselves too deep in our foreign alliances. We must allow our alliances to a certain extent, just in case if we need to change course, we will be allowed to do so without any problems or restrictions. We also cannot let ourselves fall into foreign debt.
-George Washington
Andrew Jackson:
ReplyDeleteAs in the topic of tariffs, many citizens are being cheated into paying them.
Alexander Hamilton: Our country needs the revenue in order to pull itself out of debt. Where else will we get the money to maintain our nation together?
DeleteI believe that political parties will be the downfall for our country. I am warning you of the danger of political parties and how they will turn the government from a group of people interested in their nation's future to a rabbling group of power hungry proffessional politicians! Having political parties may stir up riots and they open the door to foreign influence and corruption. I believe that our federal government must remain strong enough to prevent state or regional interests from gaining too much power. I don't want something similar to the Whiskey Rebellion to occur again! Our federal power must be strong enough to prevent any other disasters from occuring.
ReplyDeleteNice post, but...who is this? Could this be George Washington posting us??
DeleteAndrew Jackson:
DeletePolitical parties will be good for the society. Will make the government better and the people will have their own interests.
Yes it's George Wahington.
DeleteOur country is just starting to get itself together. We have put so much effort into gaining our independence. We worked together, united as one for a common goal. However, different views are now bringing out nation apart into various political parties. It is dangerous for us to split the nation. It will be easier for foreign countries to come in and once again take over. Remain united and our liberty shall remain safe.
ReplyDeleteGood start, BUT who is this supposed to be? :P
DeleteLet' start the rest like this:
GWashington: Our country is just...
G.W.: Our beloved country that we have created as a whole through our hard work, do not allow political parties ruin this union. For political parties only revolt the individual ideas that make us different and leave out all of our past experiences that bring us together like the war. We fought so hard to gain our independence that we truly deserve and all that political parties will do is corrupt our minds and separate us in to different groups. Stay away from political parties, they are no good.
ReplyDelete-George Washington
Alexander Hamilton:
ReplyDeleteTariffs are clearly the best solution to our nation's economic problems. I am not proposing this idea to be perceived as an evil being. I am thinking about our nation's future. I want America to become a productive country, a country of international status, and a country to be feared by many. By placing them, it will be easier to free our nation of heavy debts from the War of Independence. After paying off the debts,a protective tariff would be best to promote manufacturing. Promoting manufacturing should be a priority to the nation's leaders, because it is the only way to domestically grow. With no debt and the growth of manufacturing (thanks to TARIFFS), this country will be on the road to an increase in economic development, and will eventually reach a status as high as other major countries like Great Britain.
Awesome way to show how smart Hamilton was economically wise also don't forget to show that he had all of George Washington's support and remember how it manufacturing would provide women and children with jobs.
DeleteGeorge Washington: No taxes can be created without being more or less inconvenient and unpleasant.
DeleteTariffs are not the complete solution to the nations economic problems due to that the tariffs would not be beneficial for the south.
DeleteGW: Evil? Of course not. Let us remember that Hamilton never proposed that these tariffs would be permanent. They were meant to act as a push to get the nation started. A true patriot would not hesitate to help our nation. He was a brilliant man, Hamilton, way ahead of his time.
DeleteHarriet Beecher Stowe: I have grown weary of such numerous and vile situations slaves have had to endure for too long now. In my attempts to suppress these horrific acts, I wrote "Uncle Tom's Cabin" to exhibit to the nation under what circumstances human beings are being held. Me, being born as a black individual, and nonetheless as a woman, should have no factor as to how I should be treated in society. I was born, born as human being. There is no reason why I should be treated as anything inferior. Equality among us all is what I strive for, and I know one day, I will achieve.
ReplyDeleteHenry David Thoreau: Madam, please come and join me in spreading your enlightening depiction of slavery to the people. They must know what the horrific acts of slavery can do to a person. The people of America must know what the daily life of a slave is like, maybe then we can start a movement for abolishing slavery. I, too, believe in abolishing slavery and granting individual liberties for everyone. No one should be held in the grip of this immoral system of free labor, this is madness!
DeleteThomas Jefferson:
DeleteAlas! Someone to whom I can relate to share my contemplations on the horror of slavery. Slavery is a moral depravity. It impairs and hinders virtue and moral principles.
G.W: Our country is just starting to get itself together. We have put so much effort into gaining our independence. We worked together, united as one for a common goal. However, different views are now bringing out nation apart into various political parties. It is dangerous for us to split the nation. It will be easier for foreign countries to come in and once again take over. Remain united and our liberty shall remain safe.
ReplyDeleteHarriet Beecher Stowe: Independence? United? Those words are not even in my vocabulary. African Americans have no independence or liberty. We are not united with whites. Whites despise us and see us as trash! Us salves have held back too long. I am here to take a stand regarding the consequences therefore Washington please analyze where you are coming from when you say the word INDEPENDENCE because Black do not have it.
DeleteAndrew Jackson:
DeleteNow that we are finally strong enough to defend ourselves from foreign countries, let's focus on things that are destroying us from within the country, like the incorrect uses of federal power.
Ana Mendoza
Alexander Hamiliton:Industrialization is the way to go it will be able to run day and night just like our european friends with their cotton mill.I also think it will allow one man to increase in his skill of making the product and will help us establish a domestic market so we won't depend on foriegn countries.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree Kimberly. By industrializing, not only the US will become more advanced, but it will give them prestige and international power that Hamilton desired so much when he wrote this document.
DeleteHarriet Beecher Stowe: (Slavery)
ReplyDeleteI Hate slavery! If you go read my book "Uncle Tom's Cabin," it explains why I feel the way I feel about Slavery. I've written other booker about slavery. When I visited President Lincoln, he greeted me as "the little lady who made this big war": the war between the states. I thought it was pretty cool.
Harriet Beecher Stowe: Oh, the horrors these white folks have brought upon my people! They have wronged only those who are not of their own color. My people have suffered so many unexplainable atrocities, why? Who have we wronged? Who have we angered? We do not even know these folks. My only wish is for these light colored individuals who whip my people to see the pain they cause. I am not only speaking about my people, I am also speaking of the natives of this land who have suffered perhaps the same atrocities as we have. All peoples currently occupying this land should be treated equally and be entitled to individual liberties that we cannot be stripped of. No more whipping, no more torture, no more discrimination, only peace, equality, and coexistence. We should all live out our lives without being treated differently. No one should work against their own will, everyone should be entitled to their own opinions and thoughts, and everyone should express themselves freely.
ReplyDelete- Harriet Beecher Stowe
I agree that the all should be equal especially in light of the fact that we all live on the same will. That will being of god and his word which means that no one should have to be treated differently. As equals man shouldn't give pain to those who don't deserve it or who haven't earned such torture.
Delete-Jonathan Edwards
I agree with you because there shouldn't be any type of treatment given to man that don't deserve such punishments.
Delete-George Washington
I agree that people shouldn't be treated in such harsh ways for the reason that everyone should be equal with anyone else. While there is never a good reason to give punishment to those that don't deserve it.
Delete-George Washington
Alexander Hamilton: I know potential when I see it and Industrialization is the way to go. Not only will this increase our revenue ,as a country, it would bring foreign countries to its knees for we will be the ones exporting goods. No longer would we be dependent of the many factory made goods and sooner or later be able to compete the world wide companies. Men can truly develop skills for what they do settling down. The vast emigration would easily support our need for workers and possibly spring out new ideas with all the diversity from different places putting the u.s on top.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Washington: Yes i we ever want to become a wealthy nation we have to industrialize and collect revenue to strengthen our country.
DeleteBenjamin Franklin:
DeleteWhat is wrong with you, agriculture is the answer to our nations economy because we should use the abundant and precious land that our nation has in store. Agriculture will make our nation's wealth prosper, we don't want to buy our food we want grow our food. It is a waste of money trying to import food from other nations.
Thomas Paine: My fellow Americans, we must make our Government's main purpose to give us life, liberty and property. This is our goal but there are some obstacles. Our government can be easily destroyed by the evil of our men. This is up to you to create our main purpose! We must fight for this goal and make it happen. In addition, we should also have a Representative government where all the colonies should have a say and all should be equally weighed. America is small my people we must become united NOW! The smaller nations the easier to unite it. Finally, All colonies must declare independence in order to prosper and have support in their struggle for freedom. All I ask is for you to follow these suggestions i have mentioned above. And to end this little blog my final words are, fill your bowl of cereal in the morning with some Common Sense. (:
ReplyDeleteHarriet Beecher Stowe: I understand and respect your attempts to maintain the U.S a united nation in no regards to go into war. My sincere apologies go out to you if by any means you believe my intentions were to cause such rivalry between the North and the South. Do understand, that with the my book being published, I was just set out to let the whole country know the hurdles my fellow people had to endure. Our own president, with an invitation to his office, treated me with civil respect. I hope we can do the same, regardless of our different perceptions on the war.
DeleteHenry David Thoreau: I am readily moved activism against injustice, a risk-taker on the underground railroad, and an outspoken defender even of extremism to defeat proslavery forces in a divided America(slavery). I learned, that if one goes forward confidently in the way of his dreams, and deals to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours(Individual Liberty).
ReplyDeleteHenry David Thoreau
Hamilton:
ReplyDeleteWe should as a country promote manufacturing. It will add produce and revenue to society. Machines would make labor easier making mass produce and productive power of labor. Manufacturing will unite us as a country by allowing us to have domestic manufacturers rather than foreigners, and giving jobs to women so they can contribute more to society. It will stimulate human minds and help agriculture prosper. Manufacturing will give farmers a more sure and reliable domestic market. Yes it would increase immigration but we should see this as a good thing.
I see your point here but as manufacturing grows more and more citizens will keep on being Cheated into taxes
Delete~ Andrew Jackson
George Washington :
DeleteHamilton you are such a brilliant administrator . Your economical plans will surely guaranteed our country with a great finance . U.S economy will no longer have to depend on manufactured goods and American economy will stop been at a limited level.
I love how you think hamilton. You have not yet frauded me into thinking otherwise about you. Our economy needs to become industrialized.
Delete-Andrew Jackson ;D
Andrew Jackson: The Indians are preventing this country's expantion farther West. We must find a way to move then so that we can expand the Union. The Jacksonian Democrats and myself must fight to expand this country.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin Franklin: we should talk to the Indians and find a middle ground instead of using force on the Indians.
DeleteYes,Yes! But im guessing Jackson felt sorry for the Native Americans, so by removing them he was helping a "Injured race" when in reality he was only making things worse!
DeleteI agree which was the suffering of the Trail of Tears, the forced relocation westward of an estimated 15,000 Cherokee Indians.Though he had a adopted a Indian orphan,Theodore.
DeleteGwashington:
ReplyDeleteIt shouldnt even be a question on state vs. federdal power. Federal power is the way to get our union as one whole. We will all need eachother. The East, West, North, and South. The government and unity is very important, national union will caause happiness. Federal power is for the whole.
Andrew Jackson:
DeleteI opposed encroaching federal power and generally support states’ rights. However, I don't support unfettered state power. I support policies designed to check both state and federal power.
T. Jefferson: It is not for certain that decisions will be made without bias and without favoring. How is it possible for states to be governed by others who don't see the common lifestyles there? Also, this nation is too big to depend on one head government. Although unity is important, a federal government will not satisfy everyone.
DeleteAndrew Jackson: Federal power is a monster and will not benefit states.Federal power is unjust and unconstitutional.
DeleteWilliam Bradford: We need a strong central government to unify all the people to work as one unified body.
DeleteGeorge Washington:
ReplyDeleteForeign policy
Our nation has to steer clear of artificial foreign ties. Foreign countries have problems foreign to us. I recommend, if we do hold any foreign ties, that it be only for expanding our industry and commerce
Alexander Hamilton: How are we going to support our growing industry? We all know the labor force within America is no where near enough to fill in all the factory made jobs. Not to mention the diversity we would get from all these foreign people who would bring various ideas together. This country needs new ways of thinking otherwise we will stay primitive and not evolve our industry.
DeleteWe shall avoid political parties for they stray from the problems facing our emerging nation and focus mainly on personal ideals. This will impede us from moving forward and cause harm instead of good.
ReplyDelete-George Washington
Phillis Wheatley: Why must my people be alienated of rights every human deserves? We can too have the same beliefs and aspects towards our God and Savior. No, but instead my people, Africans, are seen as the contrary. Instead of seeing us as one under God's rule, we are seen as diabolic leading people to treat Africans as animals or such. This discrimination is unjust and no one deserves this treatment. In the end there will always be a salvation, for race does not decide one's fate, as it should be now.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Lloyd Garrison: Africans have worked hard and long in America, and deserve to be treated as equal as any other American. Africans should be entitled to "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" because they earned it for all they suffering and hard work. They are people too!
DeleteBenjamin Franklin:
ReplyDelete"Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor liberty to purchase power."
Citizens shouldn't have to exchange their individual liberty for the governments promise of safety. Citizens who are willing to sacrifice their individual liberty for the notion of safety do not deserve neither.
Benjamin Franklin: I belive we should be allowed individual liberty. Not just for everyone's own personal reasons but to also help political, economic, and acadimic reasons too. It is something that we need that will help the United States stand stronger.
ReplyDeleteG.Washington: This would defiantly help strengthen the nation as a whole. The people should always have their own individual voice and rights.
DeleteP.Wheatly: I absolutely agree finally someone who sees what I've been seeing for years.Everyone deserves equal rights
DeleteAlexander Hamilton:
ReplyDeleteHello, my fellow citizens
I'm here to inform you about the things that have to be done in order for our nation to prosper. First of all, lets start off with our economy, the way to go is industrialization we cannot keep depending on agriculture as our main economy. Industrializing will creat millions of jobs, increase the nation's wealth and prevent our nation from wasting valuable money on imported manufactured goods. As you all may know that I'm a Federalist but,"why"? some may ask. The answer is simple, us the Federalists support a strong national gov't because it will help to promote business, manufacturing, and trade. In the otherhand, Democratic-Republicans support an agricultural economy with a weak central gov't and that is not good for our nation. Vote Federalists that's the answer to our nation!
I definitely agree with you, Gustavo. Alexander Hamilton did strive to industrialize the U.S. Because he was such a "money man" meaning he was very smart with money, he knew what he wanted for the U.S. He felt that depending on manufacturing, machnery, and factories was the best way to go and depend on.
DeleteWashinton: Hamilton, you are completely correct. Industrialization will include everyone, even women and children, and will strengthen economy. We'll emerge an even greater country than we were before! Although I don't agree with the splitting of political parties, I have high hopes for a strong national government for many years to come.
DeleteAlexander Hamilton: Although the idea of industrialization has not been fully accepted until now,it is the perfect opportunity to show what America is capable of. American manufactured items can be more trusted than those of foreign industries. What Americans need at this moment is domestic manufacturing for this growing nation. Just imagine all the success!!!
ReplyDeleteGeorge Washington: Hamilton I see your point, as it will do us better for the fortune of the United States. Having the South in Agriculture and the North in textiles, we would have a well-balanced nation!
DeleteGeorge Washington: The largest contribution to gaining our independence was the unity of the American people. We fought together for a common goal and we must remain in this state of unity. The best way to accomplish this longing for unity is to refrain from splitting into regions with different wants and needs. This is the same as having state power. Every state would be different and we would kiss our unity goodbye. The best solution for preventing this is to have federal power. In doing so, our government would be the same through out the nation. We would share the same laws and same needs and wants. Let us do it but let us do it together.
ReplyDeletePhillis Wheatly: George washington you are so right. this country should be more united and patriotic. you are an amazing man and others should follow your example.
DeleteG.Washington: The nation should deal with itself rather than with other foreign nations. We would be stronger dealing with our own issues rather than sticking our nose where it doesnt belong. There should be some form of communication to a certain point with these nations. It would be rash to cut off all communication when we could have some form of benefit from trade.
ReplyDeleteAlexander Hamilton: Yes, I strongly agree with this, we should also be interdependent product wise. If we depend on eachother, we won't have to depend on other countries for resources and what not.
DeleteG.Washington:
DeleteYes Alexander the more we change within our country. The less we have to depend upon other countries. We can be self sufficient.
Andrew Jackson
ReplyDeleteWestward Expansion:
I believe that westward expansion will secure our future as a country. Let's not allow those savages to take our opportunities of building more towns, cities and prosperous farms. We can always "Christianize" the indians to avoid conflicts, and later, we may even force them westward as well. Let's face it expanding to the west is one of the most glorious chances we have ever received and we must do everything we can to remain successful.
Ana Mendoza
Even though people thought slavery was a horrid and wretched thing to do, I, on the other hand, had a better experience than most. Luckily for me, my slave owners saw my intelligence and took me under there wings. They taught me what I know now and gave me the capability to become the intelligent and poetic woman I am today. This has given me the chance to write to George Washington and have him turkey understand what America is. For this I am thankful that I was stolen from my home and brought to the Wheatley family. Who knows where I would be at right now with out them.
ReplyDelete~Phillis Wheatley
"... and took me under their* wings." i think if there was more african americans that were taught to read and write. Events would have been a lot easier after segregation.
DeletePhillis Wheatley:
ReplyDeleteWe were all created humans, correct? Then why does the color of our skin have anything to do with the way we are treated? When I came from Africa, I was lucky enough to have slave owners who actually cared to teach me how to read and write. If it wasn't for them, you wouldn't know who I am. We all deserve our own rights. And with the knowledge I now have, I will continue to write poems and express how we are all created equal under God.
Harriot beecher stowe:
DeleteI agree! How must we sit around and view this slavery continue. Slavery is an abomination! How must we sit around and watch black families of slaveholders corrupted by infedelity?
George Washington: As a growing country, we must stick together! Unity is the only thing that keeps us free! That is what keeps the stitches in our pants together!! Unity; it is a wonderful thing, alas, some people think it is okay to separate us into these, these factions that they call parties. There shall not be any sort of party if we want to prosper, for then it would just be a poison in our body, caused by our own unawareness. Stay together my friends.
ReplyDeleteWhen we have no paties then we shall throw a party and celebrate. Ha thoust are invited to The White House for some tea. How are we supposed to reply to these? Well yeah Washington warned against political parties in that they would only spearate the country.
DeleteAlexander Hamilton: The only way for our nation to prosper is to impose tariffs. There is no exception; everyone MUST pay them. We must also promote industrialism. If we continue with our current ways, with slow labored agriculture, and don't progress, then we are destined for failure. Take Britain, for example. They've progressed as a nation, and we must do the same. There should be a much greater use of machinery instead of manpower. Industrialization and imposing tariffs are the only way to go in order to reach success.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Jackson: Now that the North has made a degree of industrial development, and the expansion with the South and West we have offered promises of a more agrarian nation. Now we have canals, steamboats, and railroads linked planters and farmers with new markets and raw materials in the West for rapid transport of people, goods, and information. With the wealth of natural resources in the south, it encouraged the further growth of manufacturing in the Northeast. These changes, promoted by market capitalists, are providing a critical economic link between the slave and plantation system in the south and the developing industry in the north. It’s also encouraging lots of new ways of funding transportation improvements and the financing of new business through new forms of banking.
ReplyDeleteHamilton:
ReplyDeleteI'm here today to give and express my own opinion on how to become a greater nation. Let me start of by giving my own personal ideas on how to improve our economy. Our economy is currently depending on our agriculture. Therefore we need to change and become a more industrialized nation/economy. Industrializing will not only make us wealthier as a nation, but it will also cut down the labor needed to produce the things we need and decrease the trading a bit by us making our own supplies we need instead of wasting our money on imported goods. Becoming more industrialized will make a huge/better change and lead us to success.
Jefferson:
DeleteWe must not industrialize. We have to stay on agriculture and support the farmers. Labor and hard work is what this country was founded upon
William Lloyd Garrison:
ReplyDeleteAfricans came to American and worked long and hard. And us "Americans" treat them so unfairly. They are human just like us. They worked just as hard as any American, maybe even harder. They suffered much more than us as well, therefor, they deserve the same individual rights as any other American. I encourage anyone who agrees with me to join the Abolition movement. I will make sure I am HEARD and that Africans get the treatment they deserve.
I am on your side brother. We are all assured llife liberty & pursuit of happiness not just us white folks. The govt. Influences too much of what the nation wants. I know one day everyone will see eye to eye and abolish slavery.
DeletePhillis wheatley:
ReplyDeleteI was enslaved at the age of seven, since then I had very few childhood memories of africa. I do, however remember my mothers ritual prayer at sunrise. I was pur, hased by john and susanna wheatley on july 11, 1761. I was trained household duties nd became a member of a church. People thought us slaves were dumb, we werent as able as white, but I, I was smart. I was a well educated poet. I wfote bout the hard times of slavery anlater I published my own book. I opposed slavery, I do more than express my gratitude for my conversion of christianity, I do more than insist that us blacks are capable of both spiritual nd cultural refinement.
George Washington,
ReplyDeleteAs a country, we must stay united and follow our own course. We must not let our alliances with our foreign neighbors affect us. We must keep our alliances to a certain extent, every country has their own course. We can not let ourselves fall into foreign debt. If we stick to these circumstances, then we will be free to change and follow our own course if needed.
This is a very good post with many facts but you could have added the reasons that we could not afford to get into a close alliance with one of our foreign companions and why staying away was so important because we dont have enough money due to the revolutionary war.
DeleteAndrew Jackson:
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Foreign Policy, it is absolutely apprehensible to what we, United States citizens, should do. I, as president, will stipulate treaties with foreign countries, because I believe in world trade.
George Washington ... you believe that until we get involved in a war. Then we get sucked into this war the foreign countries are having ... I'm just saying stay away
DeleteAlexander Hamilton: Tariffs are an essential source to America as we need to build roads, canals and support our citizens. It keeps money flowing and we won't be too in debt and can pay it off. We also can supply our country with things we've never had and make US more efficient.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, political parties greatly hindered the unity of the nation. this is because each party had different views and ideas than the others. For example, Federalists and Democratic Republicans had different views on the legitimacy of the National Bank. Federalists wanted to create a central bank that could provide a secure depository for federal revenue. However Democratic-Republicans wanted to have control over their money locally and feared that there would be corruption within the National Bank. Many people easily took sides on this debate and argued over what would be the better resolution, bank or no bank. This shows how the factions disunited the country
ReplyDeleteAlexander Hamilton.
A.Hamilton:
ReplyDeleteDont let there be any factions.Factions will create bad unty and its a bad influence among us.Destroy and anuiquilate any factions in within our country NOW!
George Washington:
ReplyDeleteDo not get involved with other foreign countries or have any type of alliance with them as well. If one of the countries were to get into a dispute then we would be seemed as part of the problem so we would be sucked into the war, and we cannot afford any more wars because of the lack of our money.
Henry David Thoreau: fellow Americans.. we say we are all to be treated equally yet you say we need slaves. Slaves are humans and deserve the same rights just as us. Eventually they'll have enough of this cruel treatment. There are more of them than us now and the government will eventually have to provide them with rights.
ReplyDeleteI have come to notice that this country's economy is mostly based on agriculture. Clearly, there is nothing wrong with that, but what if there were to be a drought that completely destroys our agriculture? We must move into other markets, and I believe that the best way to do that is industrialize! If we were to industrialize, we could easily have a strong economy, leading us to become a strong nation. We won't have to rely on foreign goods, which can easily be overpriced by the nations we buy them from, but can instead buy our own manufactured goods. Labor force would be no problem Because if people of other nations saw us prospering, they could easily come over here to work. ~A. Hamilton
ReplyDeleteAlso applying tariffs to foreign goods will greatly increase the local sales and help economic growth of farmers.
DeleteThomas Jefferson believed that states had more power and alexander hamilton believed that federal had all the powers necessary. Federal vs. state will always have these idea on which had more power.
ReplyDeleteP. Wheatly: This country is run by a very amazing man in General Washington but still there are problems. Women don't deserve to be treated like dirt and neither should slaves. What has gotten into us as a nation
ReplyDeleteThank you Wheatly for that splended comment. I am glad to know you think I am an amazing man. I am sorry to know that you think our country is going downhill by horrid slave owners who wish to treat their slaves terrible. If the white men of this country need slaves to maintain their land, then let them own slaves. I do not know how the owners want to treat their slaves and I don't think it's the correct choice to treat their slaves badly, but I support emancipation. -George W.
DeleteI signed the Tariff Act of 1789. This Act, along with the Collection Act of 1789, is going to protect trade and raise revenues for the federal government.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Bradford:
ReplyDeleteWe need to work together to establish a strong central government that will bring us in unity to form one unified body.
george washington: That's what i'm saying! America is the greatest country in the world, but we need to stay united in order to keep it that way. Foolish things such a political parties will tear this nation down!
DeleteGeorge Washington : we should stay away from foreign countries because if we become allies with other countries and the have a problem with each other then basically they would want us as their back up and we get involved which is no good no good at a'll
ReplyDeleteIt isn't good because if we are to get involved that would require a lot of money which would possibly have left the nation in a state of depression.
DeleteAlexander Hamilton:
ReplyDeleteI believe tariffs, if not over set, will greatly increase the economic growth of this country. Helping build and expand the nation, tariffs will create an equal opportunity for the citizens to pay off debts of America and contribute to the growth of our nation.
George Washington:
ReplyDeleteThe nation should have stayed away from the factions that now exist. All that is to come from it is arguments and the possible falling out of the Nation.
Thomas Jefferson:
ReplyDeleteThe states should have more power than the federal government. If we let the government be stronger than we'll return to a monarchy. The government should be one with limited powers. We must also not rely on these banks. We can create a strong economy by focusing on on good old hard work and labor
Benjamin Franklin
ReplyDeleteI say we should not let the government keep the slaves down or even own them no more. I know as a young man i had my own slaves but no more because i have realized that the constitution should allow justice to any race.
I agree we as a nation should let nothing break our trust and togetherness.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Edwards: While some dwell in the sins that they have committed we should look towards the future and expansion. In the path to favor in gods will we as a nation should head for the spread of the word of god. The expansion of this great nation should also mean the increase of people that know of god and what he does and would do to them if anything evil would occur because of this clueless people. While many know of god those of whom we shall inform the word of god are the Native Americans that live in the not yet discovered land to the west. For the spread of our nation and of god there shouldn't be anything that hinders us from moving westward, so that we can spread all that we know of the lord and of his will.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Washington: I do believe that this nation has been improving, yet I see political parties have caused conflicts in the U.S. I would prefer for a complete union between the people of this nation, so that there could be a change in the status of unification. If political parties were to be removed from this nation tension between people that have different ideas.
ReplyDeletewilliam bradford:
ReplyDeleteIn regards to individual liberty, the Pilgrims and i sailed over to the new world to get away from england who doesn't approve of our puritan ways. You are given all the individual liberty that God wants you to have.
